Apprentice

To advance beyond being an electrical worker, you must first start by enrolling in an apprenticeship program. An Electrical Apprentice is both a student and a working professional tasked with learning how to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install electrical systems and equipment.

Our Apprentices earn while they learn through the WECA Apprenticeship Program. Rather than attending a class after a hard day’s work, the company-paid program offers a class over a 2-week period every 6 months, replacing regular working hours. The program lasts 4 years before testing for licensure. Visit goweca.com for details.

Journeyman Electrician

After completing an apprenticeship and becoming certified, Journeymen—or Journeyworkers—continue tackling projects by installing and inspecting electrical systems. Their expertise extends into being able to interpret drawings, sketches, and software that will determine the best procedures, tools and equipment to use. While they test and observe the functioning of the electrical systems, they also offer guidance and help teach the apprentices in their crew.

Foreman

Foremen assist in coordinating the daily activities onsite according to project specifications, managing all aspects of production, scheduling, quality control, and administrative paperwork. They lead the development of the project, enforcing a focus on adhering to safety protocols among their teams. Our Foremen keep our safety-first culture top of mind for their entire crew.

Field Superintendent

Field Superintendents provide guidance to Foreman as they facilitate detailed reviews of the project plans, ensuring all work is completed promptly and efficiently. By leading the coordination for all quality control processes for their scope, they assist the Project Superintendent with developing the schedule and work closely with other trade partners onsite to follow and deliver project needs on-time.

Project Superintendent

Project Superintendents drive strong relationships with Safety, Quality Assurance/Quality Control, Project Managers, other trade partners, and more. They create project plans incorporating all requirements, constraints, and opportunities for their project teams to operate at full capacity. Their mentorship helps those they support with their working knowledge of all aspects of construction.

General Superintendent

General Superintendents have the overall responsibility of the project team’s success pertaining to safety, quality, schedule, client satisfaction, and profitability. Their high effectiveness in managing several complex projects pairs well with their ability to establish and maintain working relationships with owners, engineers, architects, and trade partners. General Superintendents advise and guide Project Superintendents, Field Superintendents, and Foreman for future leadership roles.

Field leaders in the industry solve many traditional challenges while also raising the bar on cultivating an innovative approach to the changing world of construction.
